View Full Version : How to put 1/2" bit in bit holder

I have a new bit with a 1/2" shank and I put it in the bit holder and tighten the screws ddown and the bit still falls out, should the screw squeeze onto the collar the bit goes through or onto the bit itself for a 1/2" bit

See Figure 20 and 22 on pgs 27-28 of the manual for proper bit/bit adapter installation.

The 1/2' adapters are much better IMO.
Theres a nut on the adapter that tightens down to sqeeze the bit in the holder instead of very small set screws pushing against the shaft of the bit. CW sells a tool to hold this adapter in place that comes with a wrench to tight the 1/2" bits in place. Works great.
