Improper board width measurement

Searching didn't get the answers, so here goes.

I put a pine board that is 7/8"Thick x 8"wide x 15.5"Long into the machine. When it reads my board, it's detected as 8.986 wide and 15.5" long. I rarely get an accurate width detected. What do I need to do to correct this?

You can use the "Calibrate" option in the keypad menu.
I have used this with excellent results.

But you will need a good quality 3/8 bit for the operation..

Thanks for the tip. I have the bit set on order. Once it gets here I can try it out.
