bubbly images

We are new to this machine and while excited, also perplexed. We have imported images from Photoshop and they appear bubbly once imported into the carvewright software. I think I am going to have to learn to use CAD or.... What software is the best for designing and how does one import pictures so that they look sharp??? ALSO, I can't find a manual which starts with the basics. I have been patching things together piecemeal. Is there a beginners manual out there? I'm used to manipulating two dimensional images. Help me graduate please. tnt

I hear that Coral Draw is good however .jpg images make poor .ptn patterns. I have no expertise myself. I usually get my patterns from Durtdawber at carvespot.com.
