Blur Tool doesn't work

I did the update to 1.125 today. I'm still running 1.120 also so I can edit my own PTN files from before the upgrade and evenutally make them all MPW files. My reason for upgrading was the new and improved options in the pattern editor. But I cannot get the blur tool across the top to work for me in it? Don't know if I"m doing something different but I swear the first time I opened it I was able to use the blur tool with the new gradients....now it does not work for me on an MPW file or a PNG file?
Any ideas...or is this a glitch in the software.

An edit here...tried it again and it does work..the file I had tried before had such a slight change that until I zoom in real close I couldn't tell...all is good.

It does work but the effect is VERY weak. Find something with a really sharp edge, zoom in on the 3D view and try it. You can see it work but it seems even with the strength set to 100 it takes several passed over an area to have much of an effect. Oh, also make sure you don't have any selection areas active (Edit->Select None), I have found in the past that if I am trying to edit outside of a selection area it does strange things.
