Has anyone seen or carved a snow depth ruler. I wanted to mount it on a base and attach it to my deck or railing to be able to read the snow depth from inside the house.

Hey, I found a couple Photos of the Snow Gauge on US 41 near my home town in the UP of Michigan.
A record was set in the winter of 1978 to 1979,
when the total snowfall topped 390.4 inches (approximately 32.5 feet or 9.9 meters) The year before my youngest son was born.

It kind of makes it a little tuff for Christmas Shopping, as far as that goes,
It made it tuff to even find the Shopping Center.
But back then I always had a Handy Beer Cooler. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif Hmmm I can smell the Copper Country Pasties in the oven now.

Thanks, guys, but what I'm really looking for is one about 24 inches. I'm in NE Pa., not Alaska! LOL!

Lived in Mi........... understand the humor. Seriously, any of those would work, if I could only lay my hands on one to scan.

How about something like this. I used one of the photos posted earlier to create the pattern.
On another topic, when I attach a picture I did through an screen capture it does not come up as a thumbnail for some reason. Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong. I think I'm still doing what I had done in the past but I'm getting different results.

I deleted my old post because the carving didn't turn out to be accurate. This one is. Now all I need is some snow............. 3 to 7 inches coming tomorrow.
