Editing Existing patterns? Help

I am trying to delete part of an existing pattern and am not having any luck. Could any one tell me how this can be done in the designer? The file is one i got off of this site and is a designer file. Any help would be apperciated. Thanks

Is this a mpc file or a ptn? Uploading the file here with a description of what you want to do would help, also.

Here is the file i was refering too. I am wanting to take the text out and either add a flag or different text. Thanks again for any possible help

I'm not sure that this is the easiest way but i could not delete the writing ether so i used the Rectangle tool and placed a rectangle around what you want off there then pick Carve region and set the depth to .000 that way it will not carve in that region. I'm sure there is another way but i don't see it yet. Hope this helps until someone with more experience can help.

Try this one, put a rectangle over the old text, and make it a carved area, invert it, and add your new text right over it.
