Thanks for the info I don't live in detroit but using your link I was able to find out when a show will be in St Paul. Now I just wonder if CW will be there.

Hey oldjoe,

The last time I talked to one of the guys from LHR, I asked if there was a Show Schedule for 2008.
He said they were working on it, and should posting on their home site soon.
In the mean time, I'll ask again while I'm at the Detroit show, to see
if they have any additional information on up coming shows that CarveWright will be participating in.

Well...The show was smaller this year. Delta wasn't there with their big trailer...Powermatic wasn't even represented :( I was hoping to play with some of their equipment since I am re-tooling my shop.

I liked the carvewright booth. Joe and TC were very helpful...it was cool they had the machine carving away...I think next year it would be cool if CW would offer a half day siminar for the software.

During the time I spent at the booth I spoke with many owners that had questions about the software...It seems like the people who are interested in buying the machine are afraid to purchase it because they may not be comfortable using a computer.

Maybe a suggestion would be to offer basic tutorials / courses much like the "Shopsmith" workbook....offer the workbook on a CD-rom for people who aren't comfortable with the internet, or have a dial up connection. Design them so they walk the user through a basic project.

I know CW allows a free download of the software...but I think they need built in tutorials in the software so potential users are able to pick it up. Maybe a "virtual cw machine"?

Just my two cents....

Well it's Saturday after noon -- And I enjoyed speaking to Joe and TC in person today in the CarveWright display booth at the Detroit Wood Working Show,
Where they had two CW Machines doing their Magic and Mesmerizing more the their fair share of the isles full of wood workers straining to get a glimpse of the dust and wood chips flying,
while the video monitors were showing the Carving Bit inside of the machine dancing up and down, back and forth, in it’s whirling computer choreographed ballet across the project board.
I found it difficult, even after having my own machine for nearly a year, not to joint in with the wide eyed looks and the oows and ahhhs, as one of the machines finished its carving.
As for up coming shows for 2008, -- Sorry no news yet from the marketing department, but TC did say he knows their working on a schedule and will post it as soon as it’s ready.

Ps. Sunday Morning --- Well our Guests from Texas have been treated to a real Michigan weekend -- 9" of fresh Snow and another 3' to 6" to come this after noon. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
