The .mpc below is giving me fits. As is, the lettering for the names are raise because I can not get the lettering to be recessed properly (I want the lettering to be carved down so I can paint them then sand off the excess).

Any suggestions?

I am trying to do the same thing, Can't figure it out. Centerline won't work in a carved region

Is this getting closer to what you are looking for.

That's pretty much it. How did you do that? Is that centerline text?

I wonder why I could not do recess text with raster.

So you used the Outline Text, picked a thin line font, selected a V bit and set the depth.............Correct?

If so, pretty smart cookie you is :D

You are correct, that is how I did it. Used "Modern" text, Outlined, selected V60 bit and set the depth to .250 so it looks good in designer. May need to tweek the depth to get it just right.
Durtdawber, hope that helped you. Not sure how to handle the text at the bottom, it still sticks up. I converted it to the modern text also, but it did not look good, maybe you have a "thin line text" that will give you the effect you want. Good Luck.

Do two differant patterns. One with everything but the text and another with text only. Just make sure center both files on the board. When you cut the second pattern over the first you may need to jog to touch.

See if this will work. Just selected one name, then selected the tree and chose subtractive merge.
