I picked up the Centerline text option a while back, and now I'd like to use it, but I want the text set down in a carved region of the pattern. When I set the text on top of the carved region, it disappears, and I can't see how to get it set down in the region. It's like it wants to carve the centerline from the top surface of the wood, not from the top of the region.
Anyone know what I'm missing here?

That is the way centerline<TEXT> works. The only way I've had any success is to make a shallow carved region and a very bold font using the 60° v-bit.

Bummer. Well, gonna have to redesign that one....
Thanks!

How about making two programs out of it , one with the carved region, then one with the lettering.
Then when the lettering program starts , jog your bit to the recessed area for bit depth measurement.

I have done it the way that Daniel just described and it worked just fine

Never thought of that.... At first I thought it would trip on the edge of the higher area and get a stall..... Need to try that....

Thanks,

Also Read Somewhere About Not Being Able To Outline Text In A Carved Region. Fairly Simple

1/16 Bit Defaults To .031 - Add Your Carved Region Depth To This
Ie: Region Is Carved .250 Add .031 = Set Depth To .281

60 V - Defaults To .250 (i Use This Bit For All Outline Letters - Much Cleaner Job)
Ie: Carved Region Is .250 - I Add 1/16" = Set Depth To .312

I always used a PTN to bring the area back to the surface to use centerline and outline type styles. I get chip out in some types of wood with raster type styles. Thanks for the post.
