Outline?

I recently purchased a pattern but it is outlined or framed, how do I delete the outline or framed portion?

and when I do, it ends up deleating the pattern. I tried to "zero" feather it but it still leaves a line around the pattern. I'd post it on here but since it's a pay pattern I don't think the author would appreciate it. I might be stuck here. I don't have an editing program to fix it.
