There have been several postings of carvings made from MDF. The only bad thing I have read is the amount of dust left in the machine, for this reason I have never carved in mdf.

I test out my designs on MDF, I would reccomed that you install a down draft system before using it though. It creates a LOT of very fine dust that is really tough on your lungs.

OUT STANDING gentlemen. Ken, that's the one. I already have a pretty beefy collection system in my shop and am adapting it to my "toy." I build a table with down draft in mind, but doesn't the CC have a solid bottom? Can it be modified to work w/ down draft?

Bernie,

There is an appropriate opening in the bottom.

Thanks for the Ideas, I'm gona make a few mods to my setup. I like the duel feed system to the hopper. Better do those BEFORE I cut MDF. Didn't know it was that nasty. I love this forum. Great Folks, Great Ideas!!
