Made from hickory. The lid is going to be padded, covered and completed by the client along with the finishing.

That is a great project, sure to get you more work to do.
Just curious - what did you use to create the edges of the panel (router, table saw, other)?

On closer inspection, must be a router.

Beautiful chest I love hickory sometimes hard to find around here in MN, Great job and thanks for posting the pictures. One little tip don't throw away the scraps great for smoking ribs as long as there is no finish on it, :rolleyes:

all the moldings were done on my router table. the carving was done first hen I raised the panel. The size is about 25" wide by 16" high.

this is essentialy four raised panel doors joined together (rabbit front and back) to form a box then I added moldings. about 7 hours all together to construct.(no finish)
