hi i just got my cc machine and learning , can any one tell me which tool to used to make a boarder , i have a rope in my favorite i like to use

There are two ways to make designs, such as borders (other than using a router design, anyway): one is to design it with your vector tools in designer. In that case you'd use a stright cutting bit (like the 1/8"). The other way is to design it with the final result being a raster image and in that case it would be a Carving bit that would do the job for you.

I'd be very interested to know how your rope border came out. Considering the cost of rope trim, I'd also like to try rope carving.
