When I start to carve the machine will carve for about 10 seconds and then stop with a close cover error. I've checked both cover switches and they both seem fine. I metered them and jumped across the contacts, the machine still stops and gives me the error. Thanks in advance

Often this is the result of the screws that hold the cover door are loose.

Remove the cover and check the screws that hold the hinges/pins in place. Make sure they're tight but don't strip the plastic.

If you've removed the cover before, make sure you have the cover switch plug in correctly. The white wire must face away from the keypad.

I called carvewright today and they had me remove a small white ribbon cable from behind the cutting head. This fixed the problem. Something to do with the probe? The representative said they have been removing this cable from the newer units.

Yep that was the second step.

They tend to skip the first one but in your case, I see it works hehe.

the two screws that are under the switch and hold it in are sometimes not tight enogh. that is the only prob i have had....tighten them down some and error went away.
