How to carve a dome?

Does anyone know if there is a way to carve a dome shape in designer? For example say I create an oval that is carved to a nominal .25 inch depth. Is there a way to make the oval dome shaped?

To create domes or dishes you want to apply a 'Surface', it's the icon right next to the 'Carve Region'. If gives you the choice of several different surfaces.
