Cutting outline

Is there a way to cut and make a tool path out of an outline? I have a PNG pattern file I have imported that is a rather complicated set of curves and I want to cut a 1/8"x1/2" deep line around one side of the pattern on 1 1/2" stock that I can finish with a jig saw and flush cutting router bit. The Outline command does an excellent job of finding the outline all the way around, but I'd like to clip it at 2 points and turn it into a tool path. Trying to use the spline tool is proving more than a little tedious and more of a "eyeball best fit" rather than a nice edge.

If not, this definitely needs to go in the list of future improvements.

As far as I know, there is no way to break an outline that was generated automatically by the OutLine Tool around a pattern. That certainly would be a handy feature.

The current workaround in doing what you described, is to manually draw your outlines (as it sounds like you are doing now).

you can tell it you have an 1/2" board to get the 1/2" cut from a cut path even though your actual board is 1-1/2" i think.
