I would like to do scroll saw like work. the 1/8 in plunge bit (straight up and down sides) is the type of bit that I would need... BUT, I would like to get the sharp corners, at the moment, I have the 1/8 dia (1/16" R). I would like to locate the 1/16" x 1" plunge bit (straight). Can I slow the rout rate on the machine as not to break such a bit? OR... is any of this feasable on a continous run?
Any feedback or clarification appreciated.
:)

HI Davekat,

One of the folks named Ron on this forum has 1/8" and 1/16" Bits available
check out this post and thread http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/misc/paperclip.gif (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/search.php?searchid=100102&pp=25&page=3#) 1/8 Bit Adapters Now Available ! (http://www.carvewright.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3678&highlight=1%2F8+bits)

As for slowing down the machines carving speed, I Don't think it can be done, at least not that I've heard of.

I don't see anyone making a 1/16" bit with a 1" cutting length, if thats what your wanting.
Carbide is not that strong in small dia. I 'd say the longest cut length your looking at would be 1/4 to 3/8".
