I'd like to try an air brush on some of my carvings but I know nothing about them. There seems to be a wide choice of models along with a wide price range. I have a small compressor (2.4 CFPM @ 90 LBS) that I think I could use.

Any recommendations/suggestions?

Thanks

I have 12 air brushes of various makes and models. All do excellent work for what they were designed to do. I'd sure start with an inexpensive one and as long as your compressor will produce a fairly steady 25psi air flow (not heavy pulsation when doing short straight strokes), it should work well for you. Be sure that it has (or you put on) a water filter at the beginning of your air brush hose so humidity (always present to some degree) doesn't get to the brush and cause paint splatter. There are many good air bursh beginner books available, particularly in model and craft stores.

Thank you Bob. Tomorrow I'll look for a book.

Bob Hill,
What kinds of paints are you using in your airbrush.
I have a ton of Badger Air-Opaque colors. They are made for t-shirts. But I wonder if they would work on wood?
