Here's a couple signs I made to look like wine barrel staves. The upper one is oak and lower one is maple. The metal banding is crate strapping, scuffed down with 3M pads. Drilled some holes in them and then used box nails from the Woodworkers Store for an antique look. Used various colored stains. The lower one has a grape bunch and wine glass from All CW patterns. Very easy to make and carves in 35 minutes. Size is 10" x 24 ", used a sled to minimize board waste, oak's expensive. Just got cenetrline fonts and will use it on the next round of signs.

Where's the wine??
Great job are they for your vineyard or someone else's. Gave me an idea for my Jackdaniels sign that I plan on making. Keep the pictures coming.

gtj44,

Really nice touch with the strapping iron.
Your going to love working with Centerline Text.

ps. oldjoe,

Here's a couple JD plaques I started to play around with, not as good as
gtj44's Wine Barrel Staves, but maybe somewhere to start. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Ken thanks for the JD projects just saved them on my computer to use when my Lindy II is back up and running. Yes I finally gave her a name. Used my wife's name so I wouldn't get the two of them confused
