I'm new to this machine. I've tried a couple simple signs, I thought.
Seem to have a lot of chatter/tear out. I have used best quality adjustment in setup. But I would like to know if there is another adjustment to look for.

What can I look at to control this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Gunner,

Chatter/tearout can be caused by a few different things,
like using a soft loose grained wood such as pine.
Another is importing your graphics as .jpg files.
Plus not all text fonts carve equally will,
some are much Better then others.
(also the font spacing and depth make a big difference)

If you could post a photo of your project or mpc file,
Someone on the forum may spot your problem.

Thanks Ken,

I started out using poplar. I've switched to maple. And I've tried different fonts, I guess it's just a learning curve. Results are getting better.
I'm using a dremel tool for clean up, just did'nt want to have to use it so much. I guess i" ll have to buy the centerline program.

Thanks again for any help,
Gunner

Maple and poplar tends to have a LOT of fuzzies. White oak and cherry are better.

All I have been carving lately is maple and haven't had any problems. Carvings turn out crisp and clean.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO LEARN ON A CHEAPER WHITEBOARD?

Maple by me is $1.90 a board ft for select and better. Doesn't get any cheaper than that.
