I received my Craftsman catalog yesterday and Sears is offering a discount on the purchase of the CompuCarve. They are offering greater discounts if you purchase more than one unit.

Sears will offer a 10% discount to anyone holding a Craftsman card which is available online and at the store...no charge.

I am not an employee of Sears nor do I play one on TV.

A person would be kind of foolish not to buy 2 other lower priced bench tools and save 20% on the CompuCarve.

I beleive you have to buy 3 Compucarve's to save the 20%, but you do save 20% on all 3 Compucarves

It could be interpreted that way, but what it really means is that if you buy one bench top or stationary tool you will save 10% on that tool.

Buy 2 and save 15% on each.

Buy 3 and save 20% on each.

The 3 tools can all be different. :)

This spring they ran an even better deal. 1 = 10%, 2 = 20%, & 3 = 30%.

I bought my CompuCarve, a belt sander, and a drill press. The 30% saved on the CC more than paid for the other 2 tools. :D

I agree with the idea of getting something from somebody for promoting their product. Whether it be Sears or whoever. Word of mouth is still one of the best forms of advertising. Did a quick plaque for Sears to show what the machine could do I got a free hat. Nice thought but the hat says Sears Craftsman on it now I am a walking bill board.
By the way Al thanks again for posting those pictures of the machine parts with the circles and arrows. Helped me out again today.

No Calicokitty there is not one available. I know that recently there was a survey done in the forum as to who would want one and I am not sure of the results but from what I read everyone was interested but some are dependent on price and options covered but for now all you get is the year or 200 hours.

All,

I've been tracking this forum for quite a while, and I just took the plunge on a new machine through Sears. Looking at the Craftsman Club circular and this forum, it wasn't clear how the current discount worked. So I put a machine, a 1/8" bit, and a 1/16" bit in my cart to see how it priced out. Sears took the 20% off of everything and gave me free shipping. This means the machine and two extra bits was ~$1590 before sales tax. I think I got me a deal! :-)

All,

I just looked and the Compucarve is setting at $200 off right now ($1699), and has the special offer of buying 3 items (does not have to be 3 compucarves, I added a 2 1/2" hose clamp and 4"floor sweep) and get an additional 20% off. That brought my price down to $1359 for the machine in my cart before tax. I GOTTA GET AHOLD OF MY WIFE/FINANCE DIRECTOR SOON.....

I just purchased a Compucarve from Sears.

At 20% off $1699.99. Final price $1359.99 (#21754)

To get the 20% off I had to purchase the following.
1) 1/8 carbide bit $30.39 (#21775)
1) 1/16 carbide bit $30.39 (#21777)

That is a great deal.

This was online at sears.com

Dammit.
I promised myself that I would not buy one of these machines.
But at that price, I would be a fool not to.

Its now shipping it's way to me.
Damn.

I just bought my second machine at the sears store, with the craftsman club discount @ 1619.99. For some reason the online store comes up 80 dollars more even with the discount. The sale ends on the 11th.
