Hey, 4 eyes!

I did this piece for a friend of mine who's a comic book artist. She put out a 'Zine called "Hey, 4 Eyes!" all about glasses, and it's now in its second issue. I hope to surprise her with it next week sometime. I think it's red Oak, approx. 22 inches long. Painted/finished by my limitlessly awesome wife Kelli (also a comic book artist). I was pleased with how the banner came out... I was worried about it, but the texture turned out well, and the undulations did nice things to the woodgrain! Glasses and banner modeled in MAX, text an' post-production done in Photoshop.

I say WOW again, three great projects in a row! Are the glasses carved on the carve wright too?

Indeed they are! But we wanted to go for a sort of black plastic look for 'em, so we putty-ed 'em a bit to smooth out the woodgrain and of course gave it two coats of black paint. They were carved at the same time... in order to get 'em both to fit on one piece of 12x24" wood, the glasses were upside-down, but yeah.

Glad you all dig it! It was a fun project.
