I need a wood grain texture for the background on a sign. I have searched the forum and come up with some additional textures but not what I am looking for. Jeff Brit has a sign on his website with a wood grain texture background but I can't find it on the website.

I have posted it before but could not find it either so I just put the pattern for the wood grain texture in the Pattern Sharing Depot in the Gallery forum.

Have fun...

Herb and Jeff,

Thank you very much. One of these should work if I can figure out how to get it into Designer.

look at the very first post in the Pattern Sharing Depot thread, there is a good explanation on how to import patterns into Designer.

Jeff,

Thanks. I was able to figure it out from the help files. The texture was exactly what I was looking for. Do I place it multiple times to cover a board? Do I create a border by using "carve region" and making it smaller than the board? Sorry to be so basic but this stuff isn't covered in the help files best I can determine.

Does anyone have a wood texture pattern file that I can use? I obtained one from Jeff Brit about a year ago but I had a computer crash and lost it.

Second post is a presidential seal.

nope, the seal is on the very last page. The link I gave is to the very first page. Here is a link to the 2nd post:

I just noticed that it is a bark pattern rather then wood grain.

Jeff,

Thanks for the help. The bark is a nice texture but the one I am looking for dupicates or looks like a sand blasted surface that I have used for sign backgrounds. You posted it on your website about a year ago but it is not there anymore.

I have searched the forum but can only find my original post. I do some work for my community association and I am trying to match the work I did for them last year.

I don't mind paying for the pattern if I can just find it.

Jeff,

That's it. Thank you very much. I have imported it and it is working great! This time I will back it up.

Is it possible to load Jeff's wood grain pattern into the surface texture library?

Thanks,

Jim

Nope :(, the texture library is all computer generated..

That's too bad. :(

I see when I bring up the surface texture menu and press the "search" tab that it has a "collection" tab, but there is apparently no way to add a collection I guess. :(

I know they are working out other bugs, but I would like to in the future see this as a user available resource to add our own into the texture library. Of Course there are ways around it now by adding it as a pattern but still would be nice.
