I was approached by the manger at the MCX and asked if I could / would do plaques and shadow boxes. What do you guys think of this? Is this layout worthy of a Marine?

That'd make my day..... but if I can suggest: a border routed around the board would make it really jump.

As a retired Air Force guy, that is one of the sharpest plaques I've seen and would be proud to hang on my wall!

I do agree, I think routing the edge would make it jump even more.

My Laser Buddy Jim that ran the Ft. Dix Personalized Services for years did a bunch of Knife Plaques. He Lasered the plaques but this is over the top.... WOW.... Nice.

Too bad he got under bid for the space and set up off base.

Looks good Robin. Here are a couple of things to consider.

1. Set both images to the same depth.
2. Lose hte feathering
3. Box in the frame and set the surface depth the same depth as the images (this will raise the images above the board face)
4. Box in the frame again, but select a bit to route the edge.
5. Copy the box and then remove the bit and click on cut-pattern

The only problem using this method is that you can't use "Centerline" for the text carving...:(

PS... GSgt should be GySgt:D

Here's another file using "Centerline" for the text... and framing the images...

Thanks for the info on the "GSgt should be GySgt". I wasn't sure so I looked it up on the internet and found the abbreviation you see on the plaque. Who would have guessed you can't believe everything you see on the internet!!!
