Photos

How well does this work with photos? I converted to grayscale and a bitmap, but am not sure how to proceed. The picture produced by the software looks terrible. Thanx in advance.

I have done photos before with mixed results. Portraits are not bad, but scenic photos aren't so good.

I have done some photos but gave up due to it takes a lot of time to learn how to edit them to make them carve good. I think Jon Jantz has a tutorial about this subject. From what I have seen and played with on pictures plasic comes out a lot nicer then wood, especially when held up to light.
And I should add the less in the backround the better,
