Hi pkunk,

While reading some of the posts I ran across your request about the Liberty Bell. I've seen lots of pictures of it but not any ready made patterns that were carvable. Then I thought about someone posting once that they probe scanned refrigerator magnets and enlarged them for carving patterns.

I don't know if it will work or serve your purpose, But how about some old pocket change, you might have laying around. --- or a so so .mpc

Thanks guys, but the client wants a 12" x 12" carving so I need more detail. I'm not proficient enough in the few programs I have to make one from these.

How soon do you need to do the job?

Hello Paul,

We intended to already have a nicely detailed Liberty Bell and many other patriotic items before this last July 4th - didn't quite make it due to vacations and such.

Getting ready to go into Christmas and Holiday Season "mode" very soon so we'll have those type of patterns ready in time for folks.

I think we can slip the Liberty Bell in the crack before then!;)

Hello,

While researching the Liberty Bell details, we stumbled upon a website by a woodworker who built an accurate full-size replica of the Liberty Bell from Baltic Birch ply.

It's quite an amazing process he went through to build it! See for yourself...

Mike, did the carve today instead as I wound up with a hot shaft (sounds bad) and had to lubricate it.(sounds worse) It's been 60 some hours since I last did it. This is in poplar (gonna be painted), and is 15t x 11 1/2"w and came out really good. If I can get a better pic in the sunshine I will but right now it's raining.

Paul,

Looks really nice!... Nice job to all that supplied different versions. I have been asked to carve one as well...

Paul, that looks GREAT!

I am really itching to do one for myself now! Didn't get a chance to do a test carve before we posted the two bell patterns, so yours is the very first Liberty Bell carve we've seen! I'll probably carve the one with the lettering inscription, since you already did the one without:D

Had planned to try to do one this weekend, but I have go out of town to play keyboards at a Christian radio station tomorrow (Saturday) evening, then the wife gets home from Ready Responder Earthquake and Bomb Disaster training late that night. (she spent the week in the desert somewhere near San Antonio)

No time for carving this weekend!:(

Can't wait to see your finished version of the Bell !
