Unattach?

I must be missing something.. How do you unattach? Once I enter a number at a node for distance to an edge lets say, the line changes from green to yellow and it can not go back to green if I need it to?? I cant seem to find unattach.. I know newbie question..

You get the attachment by left clicking by accident or on purpose, it goes from green to yellow.

The fastest way is to just hit enter when you get the number box then use the undo key to make it go away. Or you right click on the yellow box and select remove attachment.
