Here's my first carve, it's based off a drawing by artist John Newman. I made a 3d model of it years ago and revisited it when my compucarve arrived. The wood is walnut and did well with small details. Next time I'll center or stay under rollers due to the line on left.

I want to make the center knot wider and experiment some more but this machine's been impressed me so far. I did have to put tape down for the sensor to register during measure.

shawj,

Very interesting subject for a first carving, and a nice job of it as well.
Will be looking forward to more photos. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gifhttp://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Very nice stuff! Great to see more kids doing the z-buffer renders for their carvewright. Lots of great woodworking advice, but not enough folks making the stuff in 3D. Welcome aboard! =D
