Hi folks~

I'm a newbie with the compu-carve. So far, I love it..My problem though is I have made about 5 projects. Today I tried to do another but when I a message to insert wood for project it wouldn't work, and the wood was already in place. I did a sensor check and while the front roller said "Compressed" the rear roller said "released". If I push up on the rear roller with my hand I can get it to say "compressed". Does anybody know if and how I can adjust the rear roller, or is this somthing I have to take in for service??

Thanks, Bob

Did you have the board installed where it was under both rollers ? When starting a new project the board would be installed where it extends out both end of the machine ,then when you crank the head down it will compress both rollers. Also it can get stuck in an error mode ,turn power off for one minute then re-boot the machine.

You might also want to check your roller pressure with a bathroom scale.
The pressure from one machine to another may very.
We know that CW recommends 5 clicks of the crank down handle to get the proper pressure of about 85lbs.
But some machines require more clicks while others fewer.
We normally expect the pressure to be balanced between the two rollers but that's not always the case.

Here's a couple of post I found about roller problems front and rear

I just got my machine from Sears and had the same problem with the Front Roller Stuck message. After reading a few of the post here, this is what I did.
1. Put a scale under the rollers and cranked 'em down (85lbs)
2. Right after turning it on, I pressed 0 then 7 for the sensor menu. Went through that as best I could. Here I found that the front roller sensor was not changing value when I would raise and lower the rollers on a piece of wood.
3. I raised the rollers and tried pressing on them from below. On the rear roller, I could hear a micro switch "click". On the front roller, nothing. Soooo, I pressed a little harder on the front roller and walla, finally got a "click". After doing that, I was able to activate the front roller switch with the same pressure as the rear roller. (Note I was pressing on the end of the roller nearest the control panel.
4. Ran my project again and walla, everything worked and I now have my first cutout. Wunderbaugh!!! The piece turned out terrible, but I am figuring it was something I did wrong. I used the dragon project from the download area. The piece I cut out seems to have a dragon there, but very poor detail and lots of "flat" wood around the dragon image where the bit did not cut anything. I used the "normal" quality.

To check to see if your wires are pinched place a board in your machine and crank the head down as you would normally, now hit 0,7 on the keypad hit the arrow until you see the roller status it should say compressed

I did this, and found the front was compressed and the back wasn't. After raising the carriage up, I saw alot of fine sawdust/chips stuck to the rearroller. After cleaning it pretty good, rolled back down and VOILA!!!!! It read that I had a board and went right through the rest of the sequence.
