Hi,

I recently discovered the Carvewright system and... it certainly looks nice.
Since I wanted to build my own CNC-router... I already did some research in
the last year.

I don't know whether it's a problem in the forums search-engine, I can't
find any standard CNC-terms like CAD, CAM, DXF and G-Code, although I did see the word "CAD" in several msgs. If I would buy a CNC-router, I'd rather not be limited to the carvewright-software, so I wonder, is it possible to use the machine with other CAD/CAM-software ?

I may also want to use the machine for creating Printed Circuit Boards, a search on PCB unfortunately returned no results as well.

Could someone tell me more ?

Thanks in advance, best wishes

Bart Derks.

Bart,
You are correct, the CURRENT Designer software does not support importing these other file formats, I do not know what the upgraded software will do.
As for the PCB, there have been posts about this. I can not recall the outcome.

As for circuit boards: the machine is NOT designed to cut metals. The copper dust created would find it's way into all the electronics and cause problems.
