When you reinserted your flexshaft, could you feel it go into the motor end? And did you try to turn the open end of the FS before inserting it into the cutting head?

There is no doubt if the cut motor is running, it is noisy ;) . Assuming that the cut motor does turn on when it is supposed to, then it is most likely the drive cable. Open the clear cover and turn the spindle by hand, you should feel resistance as you will be turning the motor too. If it spns really easy then there is a problem.

So the motor starts to turn and then stops? Do you get an error code?

the motor continues to run the chuck/bit stops turning
i can feel the f/s go into motor and can feel little resistance when i turn the shaft but when i put it into the spindle the chuck spins easily no resistance
i get no error code i watch it when the project begins and hit the stop button as soon as i notice it has stopped spinning

Maybe he's got one of the shorter flex shafts that us beta testers started out with. The shaft would pull itself out of the chuck housing ,the moter would still spin but not the bit. We had to get a square brass ferrel from lhr and add it to the shaft by the chuck.

My thoughts also Dan. OP should call Carvewright and speak with tech support. Mine got so bad it would eat the brass tubing in 20 min.

mzieg, call Carvewright Tech support and they will probably mail you a new flewshaft under warranty.
