Just an observation - centerline doesn't work in a carved area, but......
It does work on top of a pattern, even though it's below the surface of the board. I used a pattern with a banner, and I placed text in the banner. I used centerline, 60degree bit. The top of the banner was at least .04 lower than the surface. Going to have to try it on deeper areas next. Nope, doesn't look like it will. Interesting.
