Have looked at the patterns on 3D vecror art and all carvewright. My question is will the patterns carve ok with the designer software in my machine or do I need anything else if I order some of the patterns? I lost my wife to Cancer a year ago and am just now recovering from prostrate and bladder removal for cancer myself so I really want to learn how to use this machine well to keep me busy and my mind occupied.

Thanks for any replies and help.

Well my friend, you are in my prayers. Yes go to www.vectorart3d.com and you can order patterns for your CC. James Booth has made patterns for the CC. The patterns you want are the ptn. type. If you order the animal collection you will be sent the disc which already includes ptn. patterns.

If you buy the patterns one at a time make sure you buy the ptn. pattern. James offers his patterns for several CNC machines and each machine has it own type of patterns. But if you choose ptn. you will be ok.

The animal collection is $499.00 but if you were to buy them one at a time it would be over $3500.00. Once you buy a pattern it is yours to use over and over. But you are not allowed to give away or sell the patterns themself. You can sell or give away the carved pattern.

Hang in there if you need anything this is a great group of people!

I am so terribly sorry for what you are going through. We lost our daughter-in-law a year ago and I really do know how you are feeling. You will love the Vector patterns because they are beautiful and you don't even have to think about it. They come out perfect every time. Good luck, good carving and like everyone else has said, we'll all be here for you. Pam

To answer the original question, just import the pattern into Designer and you are good to go. There are several threads here about how to import the patterns in if you aren't already familiar with that. You need no extra software beyond Designer and the purchased pattern.
