Pixel-Art Project: Tako Grande!

This plaque was done for a friend of mine based off of his forum avatar, a really low-res animated octopus. Really Cheap Pine (hence all the fuzzies in the fresh-out-of-the-machine pic), Painted with acrylics, approx. 9 inches tall.

Nah. The original piece was already pixels (see attached, image appears courtesy of Poppon.com and Steve Canniff DO NOT STEAL KTHX), so I just did a greyscale version in Photoshop then blew it up. The cut-path was just a matter of snapping to the grid. The carving part was actually much easier/faster than the painting. =)

Now that's different. I can see where the sanding and painting would take most of the time... Very different and neat... Great Idea!
