Rick,

Pretty cool! Nice hand painting on the sign. Are the Love Birds available somewhere as a ptn? Seems I have seen them before.

James,

Thanks, I thought I had seen them somewhere. You do beautiful work but, alas, I am too cheap to buy it. I'd much rather struggle and suffer for 10 to 12 hours trying to make it myself ;)

HERE'S A PAIR DONATED BY TED G. I DO BELIEVE.
PARROTS OR LOVEBIRDS, YOU DECIDE. I WOULD THINK IF YOU SHORTEN THE TAIL FEATHERS THEY TURN INTO LOVEBIRDS??

JOHNB,

Thanks for posting the birds. Here's what I had come up with by using an outline and blurring the lines to make a slight gradient around the edges:

Sorry, oldjoe I missed your question. I use waterbased artist paint, you can find it at Walmart or some hardware stores and about any craft stores. I use Delta ceramacoat. But stay away from I think it is called Apple something it is reaaly cheap stuff.

But I also use a waterbased polyurethane so I need to use a oil based clear to seal the paint. This way the paint will not bleed. If you use a lot of one color, like I use white. Then try regular waterbased house paint, it works fine.

Sorry again for the delay.

You know that %^%$ sign cracked!!!! The first one I made cracked and then this second one. I hope the 3rd one is ok, I shipped it already!

Oh well I buy my old growth redwood rough cut and sometimes it is still a bit wet!

Hello Charles,

We have a LoveBirds pattern that you may like, and it is very affordable. We created this original pattern only yesterday - - we were inspired by your comments to make an economical LoveBird pattern available to all our fellow carvers. Here is the link...

Michael,

Thanks, that's definitely more in a price range I could justify. I'll send the link to LOML to see if she likes it. She has an aviary in addition to her art talents so she can be a little picky sometimes :)
