I have a 90 & 60 degree v-groove bit from Whiteside #1502 and #1550. Overall length is a lot shorter than the 1/8" & 1/4" carving bits. If the amount sticking out from the bottom of the adapter is the same as the carving bits (approx 1.5") does it matter how much is going into the adapter, as long as it is held by the set screws? The CW site doesn't give the overall length of their v-bits, and I can't find any 1/4" shank bits with the same or close overall length anywhere else. If anybody with the CW bits can let me know overall v-bit length, or dimensions that would help me, please do.......... If mine aren't suitable, any idea on waiting time for the CW bits? Thanks

Lou

My v-bits are choked up to be very short as seen in the adapter. As came from CW and the bit finding mechanism will set the proper depth.

Look at your owners manual, it has pictures and explanation of how to setup the bits in the adaptors.
I think its about 1/8" between the top of the bit and bottom of adaptor.
