flash writer not connecting

can any one tell me what is going on when i connect the flash writer to my computer it shows the icon then it disappears. when you try to upload it says it not connected. the green light is on but nothing happens.

I had the same at one point. Ended up needing a new card reader. Either contact CW, or search for my previous thread (I think it was like mid-March).

My flash card will only read if I plug the USB port directly into my computer. I have a device that will take 5 or 6 USB cords and it will not work with it. Don't know if this will help or not but it's a thought.
