cut motor issue

I was carving a rotary lamp pattern , I got a check cut motor message. I checked it and did not see any visible issues with it , so I closed the cover and hit the enter key. The motor started up but not at the high RPM as normal. It made to passes then shut off but the truck continued to make passes as if it were carving the pattern. Has anyone had this happen and what did you do to correct the problem? Thank you in advanced.

Did you check the cut motor brushes?

Not yet only have 38 1/2 hours on the machine, it is out of warranty due the age , I have had it for about 2 years

Do you have a dust collection insert on the front? Does the lid touch it?

Did you use a vacuum cleaner hose to clean it?

I would be looking at the brushed due to the rpm change, that can be a sign of more costly damage happening. After sitting awhile the brushes may be sticking in the holders and not applying the pressure needed to allow them to work properly. No use abuse is what I call these type issues. Most items can and do suffer from no use. As like us sitting to much does not fair way. Checking the brushes is a fairly easy task and may save motor damage. When you remove them look at the end for arc damage from not enough spring pressure.

no I have a dust collector attachment that came from carvewright , hooked it to my dust collector hose
