I use the Rock Chuck. Where can I find the 1/4" diameter bits only (no shank pressed on) for my machine? Also, I will need the collars with set screw for the bits.

Also, I have seen there is a 1/32" ball-nose bit. Would this make a noticeable difference in carving quality? My firmware is 1.188.00016, so it may be that it would not be compatible.

If you have the Rock chuck you can use any standard 1/4" shaft bits. "collars with set screw for the bits." Areyou talking about bit stops?

You will not be able to use the 1/32" carving bit if you are using the basic software as it does not show up in the bit selection in the board settings. You will need to upgrade to Pro.

Yes, the 1/32 bit will give finer detail, but you need Designer Pro 3 to use it.

I guess I'm talking about bit stops. They are round pieces with a 1/4" hole and a set screw to lock it onto the actual bits.

That looks like what I have, but mine (I got a long time ago) are not as thick.

Looked at mscdirect's website, and can't seem to find the 1/8" straight bit for cutting out a path. Any idea who might carry these?

My link for the bit stops was just to see if that was what you are asking about. You can get them from most hardware stores and on line. If you want to go a cheaper route you can use compression tube fittings. Again this is just a link to show you... https://www.zoro.com/parker-sleeve-plastic-comp-38in-pk10-60pt-6/i/G1279092/feature-product?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI78LhtYXu4QIVtf7jBx2ZTQUT EAQYAiABEgIuJPD_BwE

That site probably does not carry router bits. Try doing a search for 1/8" straight cnc cutting bits.

Not having any luck looking for 1/8" straight cnc cutting bits (with a 1" cutting depth) that match the one I got with my CW. Any suggestions for a source?

Yes, they do have what I was looking for. Do you know if cw-parts.com is still in business? Their website shows a 1/16 ball nose bit with four flutes, for smoother cuts.

Thanks, Toolstoday.com had exactly what I wanted... actually a little more. They offer the bits with hard TiN coatings.
