It has been a long time since I wanted to separate lines of text. I thought I could type two lines, double space between that and the third line and the double space would be there. When I do it now the double space is not there. Was it a figment of my imagination? Now, do I have to type two different text boxes and try to make them match in size? Guess this is what happens when you don't use the software that often anymore.

I thought I have done double spacing of lines in the past but I just tried it and even though it shows in the text window the double space does not show on the board.
I'll be waiting for the answer also!

I think you have to adjust your spacing between lines on the right side of the text tool pane 3rd box down, or make each line a seperate text entry.
Double spacing doesn't work for some reason, even though it double spaces in the text tool display.

In Pro you can set the spacing between lines with the spacing tool. The input box is not actual line spaces though.

Just tried , type JUNK return JUNK return return JUNK and the view shows mine with a double spacing between my second and the third line of text. Didn't load & carve, just assumed the screen was accurate.

Want2b, do you have the basic or pro version. I have pro and it does not work that way for me.

Connie.... If you look at want2b's (#6 post) that is what I see on the text screen but moving it to the board that double space turns into a single space. I do have Pro 3.16 (or the latest version). Also, trying to make the spacing larger, using the boxes on the left, it only moves the spacing slightly and then it doesn't move anymore.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.... went out for a Chinese dinner.

p.s. I'll go try it again and take screen shots this time.

This is what I get when using the text box. I did retry using the boxes on the left side and they worked this time but as you know it moves every line to the same spacing.

If you put a space in the empty line, it works for me. No space and it won't work.

I just have the basic 1.187. From the above post seems like the software does not recognise <CR> as a valid character when moving it to the wood. Work around seems like the quickest and easiest fix.

Connie, you are right. By putting in that one extra space for each line you want to be moved down it works. I have 1.187 - works by just using the "enter" key for each space you want down. But, in 2.0 and up you will have to add the space bar space once and then the enter key for it to move the text down the required spaces. Seems odd that they reprogramed the software so you have to take that extra step. But, then again, you can see how long it's been since I used this feature. And I won't have done it then if another carver hadn't brought it to my attention. Thanks, everyone for the information.
