It's not a Gerstner, but I'll set it next to one any day......

No plans.......I found one on the Net that I liked and started from there.

That's as good as it gets. One that anybody would be proud to have in their shop. Almost would be a shame to use it but would be more of a waste for it to just sit.

I have 2 Gerstner machinist boxes, both with covers and used them for near 40 years. Your box looks super, great job and thanks for posting. LOL had to stand on my head to see them correctly.....

Really looks great. But, I think the plans were upside down when ya built it. ;)

Way too easy to build it right side up.

By the way......no nails - all spline joints (29 of them) and dovetails for the drawers.

Excellent! A project well worth bragging about. I like it! Would you be kind enough to tell us where you obtained the hardware?

I plan on building a tool chest to use for my gun cleaning equipment. Although not as nice as yours, here are the plans.

I believe I got the hasps and hinges from Lee Valley and the corners from Gerstner. Don't have the info on the felt - just make sure you get "sized" felt.......this was 5/64ths.

And the handles from Rockler.

Took my toolchest to The Woodworking Show in KC this weekend and entered it in the Project Showcase. Won People's Choice and Educator's Choice.

Very nice. I'd be afraid to put tools in it.

I would have to agree with pparker or should I say spider man, very nice, but as a tool box in my world would be ruined. I had a tool box run over by a lift truck in the past. They are hard on stuff.

A confirmation of what we already knew, it's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
