Hello,

The “Pretty Pumpkin Table Caddy” is a functional and attractive Autumn table item. Ideal for your Thanksgiving table decor, too!

The Pretty Pumpkin panels hold napkins for your table guests, while the base features recesses for setting your salt and pepper shakers, as well. The photo shows wooden salt and pepper shakers from a separate CarveWright project, but you can stow any shakers you wish.

The project uses just the 1/16" Carving Bit and the 1/8" Cutting Bit. No other bits are required.

Main items you will need:

1) The Project File(s) (included):
• Pumpkin_Panels.mpc
• Base_Pumpkin.mpc

BONUS: This project includes a separate Pumpkin PTN file for you to use in any other project you wish!

2) Boards with the following dimensions:
Pumpkin Panels: 0.75" x 9" x 22"
Base: 0.75" x 9" x 18”

NOTE: Do not use boards that are smaller than specified above unless using an appropriate jig.

3) Sandpaper, glue, stain and/or paint and clear finish

4) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details. Optional tools: a small bench top belt sander, spindle sander

Apply the finish of your choice. Here’s what I used on the sample made from Select Pine:

Pumpkin Panels:
• 3 coats of thinned Bulls Eye SealCoat (50/50 sealer and denatured alcohol). Sanded between coats.
• Several light coats of Krylon Clear spray (gloss, then satin) spray, as final clearcoats

Base:
• Applied Rust-Oleum Wheat Stain
• Several light coats of Krylon Clear spray (gloss, then satin) spray, as final clearcoats

There was a 'club' you could join and it entitled you to the monthly projects. Unfortunately it is no longer operating. You might try the pattern depot on the Carvewright site to see if it is available there. I believe the projects were there for a little more cost that the membership.

did a little digging

I did a littkle search. Went to the pattern depot, then projects, and on page 6 found what you were looking for. It is there and can be purchased.

After I found the project I showed it to my wife who loved it so here's my finished version. Carved in pine, used aniline dyes for the green and orange. Has a bad problem with wanting to suck into the grain creating runs of color where you don't want it.

The dyes worked great. Really pretty final project. Awesome job!

Thank you guys for the positive feedback. Yes my wife loved it, unfortunately that lead to more work for me. Obviously all the 'girls' need one for Thanksgiving. Have 4 daughters and a daughter-in-law, you do the math.
Again, thx, actually like it myself.
