Shallow holes

I am trying to carve various diameter holes in a 3/4" thick piece of MDF that are 3/8" deep. All assistance will be appreciated.

That is exactly what the drill operation is for. You use the 1/8" or 3/16" cutting bit instead of a carving bit.
