I read someplace on here that Carvewright was working on a software package that was to cost something like $495. I just got my machine and have been looking at the Vectorart programs and would like to get them but would rather not spend the money if Carvewright is coming out with an additional package that may have some of the same things as Vectorart. Anyone heard about a time frame on the new software.

When I asked CW similar questions earlier this week, here's the answer I got:

"Thank you for your interest in the CarveWright/CompuCarve system. The Advanced version of the software is projected to be released in mid-late 2007 and will be able to support 3D graphic file types such as .dxf, and .stl. You will be able to export your images from the Designer software and will be able to use them in other applications. The Centerline text feature will be included in the package as well. It will also be compatible with CAD, AutoCad, and most vector based programs. There is not a set price on the software, although it seems it will be in the range of $300-500. It should be able to be purchased directly from our website as we are planning to have an online store up and running in about two weeks."

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks M4PC for this info it is more than I was able to get from my phone call I placed this morning. There is still no definite release date.

I talked to the company a few days ago and they stated that they don't expect new software untill late this year. Does anyone out there have additional designs I can purchase?
Thanks,
