Had almost finish a sign and it skipped in the x direction, lucky I was watching, Did a x test, without the gear box cover and notice the back belts was not moving all the time.
Also had loud knocking in that area, I did a closer inspection of the grears, notice what appeared to be some teeth missing on the plastic drive gear. It look like it had been wore for a while.
So when you get a x failure, it might be worth to do the x-test with the gear cover and look for teeth problems.
I made a quick call to CW and spoke to Connie and will get it shipped out this after noon.
Check it out

Great catch and finding the cause. Check your head pressure!

I received my x gear drive plate, was able to install it and did some testing, I got one machine up and running again,
Did some testing over the phone on #2 with Chris at CW, still haven't solve the problem, feel a trip coming up to let them put their hands on this problem.

Check around for unexpected things like a small piece of wood jammed in somewhere. Check the brass roller closely. It can also cause the x fault.

Yes I removed both rubber belts, blow out with compresser put everything back, and completed an 1 1/2 hr carve very well.
