Stuck flex shaft

Trying to replace my flex shaft. Removed the outer flex shaft cover, but the core is stuck in the cutting motor. Tried pulling (hard) but it does not budge. Any suggestions?

I had that happen to me. I had to take the motor out of the machine. I gave the end of the motor where the flex shaft goes in a shot of wd44. Then used a pair of plyers to grab the shaft right at the motor end and wiggled and pulled until it came loose. I found a wire end sticking out that probably caused it to stick. Filed it down.

Thanks for the response I had hoped to solve this without removing the motor. Not sure if I'm up to this. But I'll give it a try; what's the worse that could happen? Right?

Maybe you can find a way to pull harder on it. Visegrips and a wooden lever?

Success!!! . . . instead of pulling I grabbed the tail-end and "snapped" it. On the third snap it came right out.

To get a stuck car axel out you wrap a tow/logging chain around it and whip it. Same thing I guess.
