Hello to all!

Yup, Craftsman Club starts this Saturday, 31 March (through 7 April), and the CompuCarve will be back on sale at $1699.99. If you haven't signed up, you can sign up at 1.800.682.8691.

Most stores will honor a sign up even without a card number (ask them to look it up under your phone number) ; but remember, if you're planning to order online, you WILL need your card number.

And as for bits....

I got a glimpse of the new router plan-o-gram---seems Sears will be selling the 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 carving bits for the CompuCarve. I haven't seen them come in yet, but we're due to reset in April.....

Yippee!

Linda,

Please let us know the Sears item numbers for the bits as soon as you can find them. I'm sure that a lot of us will want to jump on them as soon as they are available (or sooner). Thanks!

Charles

Also, online at sears.com they have a rebate of $380.00 going on right now. Do you think I can get the craftsman club price, plus the 380 off since it's within 30 days? And perhaps the 10% of the 380 for the price match plus?

Just wanting to check with someone in the know.

Thanks,
Rodney

I purchased a CompuCarve machine on March 16th at a local Sears retail dealer store. Price of the machine was $1804.99 plus $106 tax. Two to three week prior to that I sent in a form to join the Craftsman club. Can I get the $380 + 10% applied as credit to my Sears card? Advise please. THANKS !

Well, don't call me Linda, but...

The Craftsman 1/16 in. Carbide Carving Bit with Bit Adapter is Sears item #00921777000 Mfr. model #21777 and is currently on sale for $26.99.

The Craftsman 1/8 in. Carbide Cutting Bit with Bit Adapter is Sears item#00921775000 Mfr. model #21775 and is currently on sale for $26.99

I've already ordered both through Sears.com, and they should be here in 6-8 days!

Your pal,
Meat.

Thanks Meat! I swear I couldn't find them just yesterday.

You know, it says "not available for in store pickup" but they said the same thing about the CompuCarve. I'll call the store and see if I can save the $6.25 shipping charge.

If you buy the CompuCarve before March 30th, you will get a $380 Online discount which brings the price down to $1,519.99. I just put mine on order Monday. Only a few days left... With California Sales Tax the out the door price was $1,637.99.

This is all very interesting. When my wife purchased the unit from Sears 2 weeks ago I was told NO CLUB CARD DISCOUNT. Total cost out the door $2,025.00 She got it at the $1899.00 "sale price". So am I to expect that if the wife goes back in she will get the discount?

There a lot of us got the Crafstman Club discount, I got it with no card, they phoned up to check my account. Also there have been several on the board who have received the additional discount if it is within 30 days of purchase.
So I would definately ask your wife to go back. Good Luck

It worked for me back in January. They credited my card for the difference and didn't bat an eye.

SMRYAN,

I think the key to getting the $380 discount is buying in ONLINE. It's been my experience that you always get screwed when you buy something in the store. You can't depend on the sales people to always look out for you and give you the latest / best deal Sears has going at the moment. Online, its Automatic...

I guess I found this forum a little too late to help anyone out this time, but I purchased the CompuCarve online last Sunday night during the Sears Friends and Family extra 10% off sale for a total of $1367.99 plus tax. I received it yesterday so I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet.

Yeah, I saw that too, but my card was already had to much on it! Made me sick to see that! Congrats on the good deal.

I purchased my machine on Feb 21st and expected delivery at a local Sears retail store (locally owned franchise) on March 9th. It did not arrive until March 16th. I am awaiting a return call from the store manager to see if there is any possibility of getting the $380 discount. Purchase price was 1804 plus tax for a total of 1911. I did apply for a Craftsman Club Card at time of purchase but have not received the card to date.

I had not received my card at the time I asked for the price adjustment but they found my Club# in the computer. I think you have a good shot at it.

The $379.80 savings is for an ONLINE purchase. If you use a Sears card, this purchase may qualify for 12 months, no payments, no interest.

I bought my machine last sunday (march 25). Sears had a sale if you buy something between 6-9 sunday for 10 % -- plus the online discount of 20 % - and pickup in store (so no shipping) means I got my machine for 1405.00. The local Sears did actually match the online discount - so they can get the sales - this was a nice deal

The stock numbers for the bits are:

(09) 21775 1/8" cutting
(09) 21776 1/8" carving
(09) 21777 1/16" cutting

I think I wrote above that it was a 1/4' bit, but that's wrong. I don't have prices, but it looks like they're coming with the bit adapters.

And as for prices....

Yes---sometimes your best buy is online (but watch for shipping/handling charges!), and sometimes it's in the store. A bricks and mortar store is not supposed to match online prices....but as you have experienced, some stores will do this (ours does not).

But yes! If you bought your compucarve, smryan, in a retail store, we have what's called a 30-day price matching policy, and that is, we'll match the sale price within 30 days. Again, some stores don't match Craftsman Club prices, but most do (ours does), so if you bring that sales receipt back to the store anytime during 31 March through 7 April, they ought to kick off the $200.00

"It's been my experience that you always get screwed when you buy something in the store. You can't depend on the sales people to always look out for you and give you the latest / best deal Sears has going at the moment. Online, its Automatic..."

Well---except online doesn't always have the best prices. See, the online folks don't give you the retail store sale prices (just as we don't give you the online prices), and the prices are often different.

Then there's the whole shipping/handling thingamabob, so you (the consumer) do need to do the comparison shop thing and decide what's the best deal.
