I was asked to create some coasters from the wall plaque for a family friend.
she wanted 6 sets and they came out well.
I drop some of the regions, reedited the text and drop down to fit in a 4" sq.

Yes, the holder work fine, I had ordered one on line, but the slots were cut all the way across and it came
with a bad warp in the wood, so decided to try my own version. the coaster material is 1/4" and the slot is 5/16"
this gives a little slant for the coaster to fit, edge gives the base good support and I can make 6 at a time.
the depth is 3/16"

What material did you use for the coasters?

The material (not Corian ) came from over seas. I found them on Craig's list under Corian whole sheets for sale.
It was used for bathroom walls in commercial buildings. I took a chance and it worked out. But I am running out,
I have been looking for a 1/4" material to replace it.
If anybody knows of any other material that might work, drop me a line or Pm.

sorry! I gave you the wrong info, the slots are 3/8" width , 3/8" deep, I use a 4" x 16" board to make 3 at one time.

might sound dumb but you used the cw to carve on the coasters?

yes, they do very well on the CW, I have done hundreds over the years, custom, initial , company logos.
after you set up your blank for one style, you just change for each different type, 60 deg "V" bit, in a mater minutes.

Perry made the coasters out of Corian material.

You can use the CW to create the entire coaster. Lots of styles. Here is one I used as a demo at a woodworkers club.
