Background: I was having z-axis stalls and other carving problems that I suspected were bit sharpness so I upgraded to the carvetight to get a new carving bit. Previous carving problems are gone but now patterns that were carving well are now not coming out as well.

This horse pattern is especially noticeable. I carved this exact pattern before the change and the "shadow" area between the legs wasn't there and now it is. Not really sure what the problem could be.
It also seems like the edges of the sunken area the horse is in seem rougher than they had been.
I'm up for any ideas.

Could be the roller rail bearings are not adjusted tight enough where they pinch the 2 upright rails. It's a cam operated offset hole set of bearings. It's a trick to get them physically tight without snapping the screw off and twisted enough to pinch the rails.

Grab the tip of the bit and pull in 4 directions looking for a loose Z Truck.

The screws holding the belt on the back of the Z truck have been known to ship LOOSE...
