I understand raster vs vector graphics but wonder if the bits in Tools have an attached vector or raster attribute to their cut. Aside from the Drill function it would appear that most of the cutting bits require a vector path and only the carving bit is raster. Is this a correct assumption? Or, can the attribute associated with a bit be changed from vector to raster, or vice versa? I first have to draw and select the line before I can select a bit. It appears that a Feathered line cut with the carving bit creates a raster cut similar to a vector cut with a "V" bit. Is this whole vector vs raster a layout decision or is much of this predetermined by Designer?

For now no. But would be a good way to add detail to your raster.
